Challenge
A large construction company managed its data by hand across several systems. That caused consistency and reliability problems. The systems had no consistent, defined way to talk to each other, and several were closed systems with no open or documented APIs, so every connection was a one-off.
Our Approach
CEdge followed industry best practices for API-led connectivity.
An API for every system
We delivered a system API for each system, using out-of-the-box connectors where they existed and custom-built Anypoint connectors where they did not. This gave every system a documented, reusable way to be reached, including the closed ones.
Orchestration on top
We then orchestrated workflows on top of the system APIs to deliver loosely coupled integrations. Because the systems were connected through APIs rather than to each other directly, a change in one system no longer meant rework in all the others.
Results
- Easy and reliable data exchange between multiple systems and subsidiaries
- Data consistency and reliability restored across systems that had relied on manual management
- Loosely coupled integrations that can be extended without rebuilding what is already in place
- The company’s chosen partner for integration work, selected for CEdge’s expertise in delivering integration projects
